search engin vs web directory : question of relavancy i am not expert or guru of search industry. since past couple of months i just diverted to exprement on web searching as its most widely used resource traffic generation. many people have many ideas or implications of search engins available. but histroy in past few years says that every time an inteligent spmmer had used search engin's weakness and made huge money, fame and miss guided people.
so one thought comes forward is that search engins use some kind algorithm or weight techniques to rank a web site. and its very much possible to make out or guess their behavior.
spammers are using same guessings or weak points of search engins to miss guide search results. Even leading search engins are not flaw less and behaving crappy since last few months. this really points one thing that how reliable or relavant or accurate search results are ?

on other hand there are some webmasters, communities, organisatins are trying build database of most relavant links called as web directoy. they are orgnized in topicwise categories. this makes group of links on perticular category makes relavant to each other. like in music catgory i can find sites about musicians, music instruments and music albums too.
lets forgrt about automatic web directories as they are the crappiest things on internet. but many web directories are maintened by humans. here unlike search engin bots or crawlers site owners or webmasters have to submit their resouces to directory. moderators check them and depending on accepence criterian they decide to list or reject resource. this makes quality of sites listed on directory richer and more relavant. since it depends on human, takes too long time to build a good valueable bulk of useful information.
